Computer Trouble… November 7, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — Chuck @ 1:58 pm

Hello!

Our poor computer (which is only two years old) seems to have a sick hard drive - ready to give out by the sounds of it. We are going to keep the computer off until we have a chance to get a new hard drive and figure out a way to transfer our pictures and things safely. Fortunately we do have backups of everything, so it is not the end of the world, but it does put a damper on posting, etc.

So, stay tuned, we will be back (eventually)!

Goodbye to Mrs. Chang and Shawn November 4, 2008

Today Mrs. Chang (Eva) and Shawn left to return to Taiwan. Eva has a health issue and feels more comfortable being treated at home. Millie wanted to give Shawn a goodbye gift so she gave him one of her toy cars to play with on the plane. They will be having quite an adventure together. Their one and only layover is in Tokyo, so she has a long flight ahead. Tim will remain here until his prelims in December and then travel back to visit them. Here are some pictures we took a few weeks ago at the pumpkin farm!

Warm & Windy November 3, 2008

It was such a beautiful day today. Temperatures were in the 70’s with moderately strong westerly winds. I started washing the laundry at 6:30 this morning so that I could get first dibs on the clothesline. Since we use a 6lb washer, it usually takes me 3/4 of a day to do the equivalent of 3 loads of laundry.

Millie is a great helper when it comes to doing laundry. She helps me put in the soap, fill the machine with clothes and press the buttons. When it comes to hanging the clothes on the line, she hands me the clothes from the basket and the clothespins. Laundry day is always a day filled with giggles and today was no exception.

Happy Pumpkin Day! November 2, 2008

To kick off pumpkin day we had some roasted pumpkin & sweet potato soup and carved our pumpkins. Millie really enjoyed scooping the seeds. We made 3 types of roasted pumpkin seeds this year; plain, hot & spicy (for Chuck), and seasoned.

I also made a little pumpkin costume for Millie to cap off our pumpkin celebration!! I must note that I made this entire costume by hand. Yes folks, no sewing machine was involved in the making of this costume. I must say that I really enjoy sewing by hand and I plan to do more hand sewing projects.
